I feel like anybody can take a picture of an empty bed, cats doing cat things, their own feet and open windows. Okay people, it’s been done. Try something new. I guess the novelty of taking these types of photos is that there is a degree of originality that you don’t have to confront.

Personally, I think taking my own versions of these photos would be the most boring thing on the face of this earth. It could be somewhat interesting if I was doing it to document the phenomenon of these photos popularity and how it sort-of-kind-of forces the photographer to confront the banality of their own existence. But, seriously, I don’t even have a cat and our bed is way too nice to evoke that lonely feeling most of the pictures suggest.

Hah.

I’ve been thinking a lot lately. About a lot of things.

For one, I always start thinking at this time of year. Another year has come and gone and when it gets to the end I always think “Wow, I’ve wasted another one.” This year wasn’t like that so much in particular. Instead, it has come down to “Well, I’m a little less confused and a little more lost”. This year has been a thing of new beginnings. Moving. Completing something big (college graduate, anybody?). And all that’s on my mind is…

NOW WHAT?

For real.

I have to make a major decision…. and I should do it quickly. We all know that I’ve never made a decision quickly in all my life. So, I better just keep racking my brain and the answer will make itself clear to me soon enough. Soon enough.

Until then I’m going to make some Resolutions Goals for myself in 2010:

1. Find a job that I like

2. Lose major weight (30 pounds) and get in great shape

3. Have a wedding

4. Read at least 14 enriching books

5. Finish putting together our house

6. Stay in good contact with my family

7. Keep a correspondence book with my hubby

There are plenty of others, I won’t bore you with them….

I’ve started thinking a lot about writing a book about being a military wife. I don’t know if I want to attempt something true-to-life or more of a fictional account. Hmm…

So… I wonder what’s next for me.
